NBA Trade Rumors: Charlotte Bobcats Remain Destination For DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins is currently the coveted young player on the trade block. The Sacramento Kings center returned from a suspension, and is averaging around 21pts, 13rebs and five assists since coming back.

Cousins has no shortage of suitors, and according to Kentucky Sports Radio, at least seven teams have made inquiries. KSR reports that the Charlotte Bobcats are one of the four likely destinations for Cousins, along with the Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks.

The Celtics and Mavericks are believed to be ahead in the Cousins sweepstakes, as both are teams Cousins would love to play for. The Celtics recently waived two players on their roster, and there’s speculation the move was done to free up spots for a deal.

The Celtics could dangle Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger or Fab Melo to the Kings. Sullinger has played well for the Celtics this season as a reserve, while Avery Bradley recently returned to their rotation from an injury.

It’s unknown who the Mavericks would part with, but Cousins new agent Dan Fegan has a strong relationship with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the Bobcats interest in Cousins. There’s still no word on what the Bobcats might be offering for him. We do know that the Bobcats are appealing because of their first round picks and rookie deals.

Trade talks for the former Cousins remain ongoing writes KSR, and he is hoping for a resolution soon.
