NBA Trade Rumors: The Most Discussed Possible Charlotte Bobcats Trades

The Charlotte Bobcats have been in on rumors for DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Chris Humphries.

They’re also rumored to be shopping Gerald Henderson, and everyone knows they’d like to get something for ‘Gana Diop’s expiring contract.

So what move is the most likely? Which trades have no shot?

The least likely deal I’ve mentioned so far is anything that involves getting Cousins to Charlotte.

With the Kings likely moving to Seattle, there’s no way that franchise is trading away its best player. Cousins would instantly make the ‘Cats better in the paint and on the glass, but if Charlotte wants to get better in those areas, they’re going to have to look elsewhere.

Which brings me to the most likely deal the ‘Cats will be involved with this before the deadline.

Kris Humphries for Ben Gordon makes the most sense, and has the highest likelihood of getting done. Humphries minutes are scattered and often times nonexistent in Brooklyn, and while Gordon plays a lot in Charlotte, the ‘Cats could use Humphries’ rebounding way more than Gordon’s outside shot.

The next most likely deal to be done is a Gerald Henderson for (insert-player-name-here) trade. Hendo is a solid defender, and a good shooting guard. A playoff team could use him to either solidify its bench or even insert him into an aging starting lineup. I don’t know who wants him, but don’t be surprised if he’s moved very close to the deadline.

As for ‘Gana Diop, the Bobcats would like to move him, but it will be hard to get a fair value in return, because everyone has a different idea of what a fair value is for nothing more than a giant expiring contract. Second round draft picks? A first rounder? Young assets? Who knows.

So, basically, if a deal is going to get done, it will either be the Humphries trade, or a move that ships Henderson out of town.
