The Charlotte Bobcats have been a thorn in the side of the Boston Celtics lately. The Bobcats have won two straight games against the Celtics, one of which ended Boston’s seven-game winning streak in the absence of Rajon Rondo. Tuesday, the Bobcats routed the Celtics behind a 35 point night from Gerald Henderson to end their 10-game losing streak. Tonight both teams will clash in Boston, where the Celtics will be out for vindication against the underdogs from Queen City.

The Bobcats are coming off a 92-78 loss Friday to the Toronto Raptors. Gerald Henderson again lead the team in scoring and Kemba Walker chipped in 20 as well. The Bobcats though had no answers for the scoring of Rudy Gay and Amir Johnson’s big night on the glass. The Bobcats will face a similar threat tonight in future hall of famers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

Pierce did not play in the Bobcats victory over the Celtics Tuesday and it was clear the Celtics missed his offense. scoring just 74 points against the Bobcats lowly defense. Pierce hasn’t played particularly well in two games vs. Charlotte this season, shooting 35% from the field and scoring just 16 a game. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will likely be guarding the Boston’s veteran forward, and it’s also reasonable to expect Gerald Henderson and Jeffrey Taylor to get some looks on him as well.

The biggest key for the Bobcats tonight will be composure. The Bobcats have the worst road record in the NBA and a lot of it has to do with experience, composure and the lack of talent on the team. The wins they’ve piled on Boston this year and been suppported by poise from Charlotte’s end and playing hard on both sides of the ball. Boston is a tough environment to play in and for a young team like the Bobcats it can be impossible to get a leg up sometimes. With this probably being one of the more interesting games the Bobcats will play to finish out the season, I’d like to see some of the young players come together and show their poise tonight against a veteran Celtics team.
