Charlotte Bobcats guard Ben Gordon will miss the remainder of preseason following a procedure to reduce knee soreness.
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer first reported the news, noting Gordon flew to Phoenix for the procedure, that requires at least a week of recovery time.
Gordon is entering his 10th season as a pro and the final year of a five-year, $58 million contract he signed in 2008 with the Detroit Pistons. He was the team’s second leading scorer in preseason and top three-point shooter last season. Gordon is coming off a 22 point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday.
Gordon joins, Al Jefferson and Brendan Haywood as notable Bobcats veterans who will be sidelined through the rest of exhibition play.
