Game Preview: Charlotte Bobcats vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Charlotte Bobcats open their 2013 season at Time Warner Cable Arena against the Cleveland Cavaliers as three (3) point underdogs.  Cleveland enters Charlotte after winning their season opener thanks in large part to a balanced scoring effort from their young cast of characters and some timely free throws in the closing seconds to lock up the win against the Brooklyn Nets.  Charlotte will hope to earn their first victory of the season after putting up a good effort in an eventual loss against the ballyhooed Houston Rockets Wednesday night.

Key Matchup:

This game features two of the best young point guards in the game in what should be a showcase of a matchup between the highly acclaimed Kyrie Irving (aka Uncle Drew) and Charlotte’s own budding star Kemba Walker.  Irving coming in off of a 15 point, 9 assist and 7 rebound effort against the Nets should provide a tough matchup for Kemba as he looks to lead this Bobcats team to their first victory of the season.

What to Watch:

If the Bobcats are to gain their first victory it will likely be without the help of their prized free agent acquisition Al Jefferson; in the opener big Al tried to play through an ankle injury suffered in the pre-season, but it appears he will be a game time decision if he is able to play at all tonight.   None-the-less Charlotte has a young developing core that should provide enough punch to keep the fans inside Time Warner Cable Arena excited through the last buzzer.
