Hey guys, I know its only November and the 2013-14 NBA season just got underway but I can’t help but fantasize about what the 2014-15 season will mean for the newly (oldly?) minted Charlotte Hornets.

That’s right, the buzz is back in town and the timing couldn’t be better. The 2014 draft is being penned by draft experts as one of the deepest and strongest in decades. From pick 1-15 it seems like there’s going to be players available who could be legit starters, or even franchise changers. The best part of it all is the Hornets could have as many as three picks in next year’s draft.

The Bobcats have the rights to two protected picks from the Detroit Pistons (Corey Maggette for Ben Gordon deal) and the Portland Trailblazers (Gerald Wallace deal). It’s not a sure thing that the Bobcats will have either pick this year because both picks are protected (Detroit’s pick is top 8 protected and Portland’s is top 12), but there’s a chance.

There’s a possibility the Bobcats could lose their draft pick this season to the Chicago Bulls. The Bobcats traded a protected first round pick to the Bulls in 2010 in the Tyrus Thomas trade. The pick is top ten protected this season, top eight protected in 2015 and unprotected in 2016.

To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to create an in depth profile of every projected first round pick in the 2014 draft. Basically, I’m going to post a profile of each player every week. Each profile will look at the players physical profile, skills, ability, history and more. I will also try my best to update each player’s profile based on thier play during the college basketball season.

I will post each profile every Wednesday beginning with Andrew Wiggins next Week (11/20); So keep it locked on Roberto Gato.com for all you need to know about the 2014 draft class.
