After an exciting last second Kemba Walker buzzer beater to beat the Raptors, the Charlotte Bobcats are in Detroit tonight, where they will look to extend their winning streak to three games against the Detroit Pistons.
Charlotte Bobcats (12-14)
Analysis: The Bobcats are finally finding more consistency on the offense end from their go to trio of Walker, Henderson and Jefferson.
In their last five games, Walker is averaging 20 points on over 47 Percent shooting, Henderson is averaging 13.2 points on 42 percent shooting; and Jefferson is averaging 15.8 points on 44 percent shooting.
If the Bobcats want to turn the corner from pretender to above average, they will need consistent scoring from those three to compliment their surprising 2nd ranked defense (92.7 points allowed) and 13th ranked rebounding . When the Bobcats score over their woeful 91.1 points per game average, they are 8-3 overall this season.
Detroit Pistons (13-14)
Analysis: Through name recognition alone, the Pistons have an intimidating lineup. However they are struggling to mesh into a true contender in the East.
The Bobcats frontcourt will have their hands full with the three headed monster of Smith, Monroe and Drummond. There will definitely be some match up issues for Taylor and McRoberts at the forward positions, especially if Bismack Biyombo (ankle) can’t play.
The matchup of the night will be a double feature,as Walker and Jefferson take on Jennings and Drummond. Its going to be a treat to see two of the NBA’s best big men go at it in the low post while Walker and Jennings throw up a lot of shots.
This game marks the first of three match ups against Detroit this season for the Bobcats.
