The Bobcats enter Denver to face the Nuggets clinging to the last remaining playoff seed in an uncompetitive Eastern Conference beginning what will be a crucial west coast road trip.  The Bobcats will need to establish their defensive tone early against a talented offensive squad.  The ‘Cats will have to do so without the services of Kemba Walker as he recovers from an ankle sprain, but Al Jefferson has been all kinds of amazing in his absence.  Jefferson enters tonight’s contest averaging 24 and 11 while shooting an efficient 55% from the field over his past 10 games.  This, Bobcats fans, is the center that Rich Cho and company coveted and foresaw when the signed Jefferson to a 3 year $40.5 million contract.

This ‘Cats team has provided fans with an entertaining brand of basketball this season with lots of story lines to follow; they cling to the last playoff seed with an exciting young cast of players still growing and learning how to become a championship contender.  Jefferson has given this team something the franchise has never had in it’ brief existence, a front court superstar.  JJ Hickson, a young dynamic defender, will provide a nice matchup against Jefferson and the Nuggets have dynamic playmakers who will no doubt push the ‘Cats to their limits.

Tipoff:  9:00
