Bobcats: News and Notes

Quick Hits:

Kemba Walker practiced Thursday, but has suffered a setback and now will not play in Friday’s contest in LA and may not play on the west coast trip concluding Tuesday with the Golden State Warriors.

The Bobcats are currently holding the final playoff spot, but just narrowly over a host of teams fighting for contention.  The rumor mill is beginning to churn as the trade deadline approaches and for the first time in a long time the Bobcats are rumored to be buyers.  If this is true they hold good amount of potential trade assets, chief among those being the expiring $13.3 million contract of Ben Gordon who has seen very little playing time this season.  The next couple weeks may prove to be vital in determining if this hold true, and now without the services of Kemba Walker for a little longer it will be all the more difficult to continue finding wins.

Al Jefferson not an all-star?  Don’t tell him. By averaging 27 pts and 12 rebounds a game over the last 10 the Bobcat’s stud center has been putting up numbers with an efficiency and consistency to warrant all-star consideration, but with the ‘Cats narrowly holding on to just the 8th seed in a week eastern conference, he nor any other Bobcats player got the call to the NBA’s festivities.
