Bobcats are Road Warriors: Cruise Past Golden State

Al Jefferson said when he arrived in Charlotte that he was going to lead the Bobcats to the playoffs and that is exactly what he is doing.  Tuesday night the Bobcats dismantled a good young Warriors team on the road beating them 91-75 in a game that the ‘Cats controlled throughout.  Jefferson gave fans his typical monster game tallying 30 points, 13 rebounds and even chipping in 3 assists and 2 steals.  Is anyone still questioning this signing?

With this win the Bobcats completed an impressive 3-1 west coast road trip, much of which without the team leader Kemba Walker.  Tuesday Walker returned to the delight of many to shake off the rust and while his shot was off he still managed 7 points and 7 assists in his first contest back from injury.  With a nasty ankle injury Walker was unable to maintain his conditioning while away from the court and it showed a bit Tuesday night as he had difficulty finding his shot and appeared a bit winded, even cramping up at times.

It was the stingy Bobcats defense that made the difference in the game, threatening to hold the Warriors to a season low scoring in the first half.  The Warriors were able to connect on a mere 31% of their shots for the game, missing many close ones in the lane and at times looking completely out of sorts offensively.  The Cats will need to maintain this same defensive intensity if they hope to close out the season with a playoff birth.  They will return to Charlotte and await the arrival of the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday in the Time Warner Cable Arena.
