If you love to hate on LeBron James and the Miami Heat, Game 1 of the NBA Finals was your night.
You have probably heard by now that the air conditioning stopped working and the temperatures inside the arena were at one time above 90 degrees.
Almost all of the players were affected by the conditions, but LeBron James was affected the most, as he was suffering through major cramps during the 4th quarter, and he took a big hit from social media about it, mainly from Twitter.
As illogical and not true as some of these tweets might be, you can only smile and laugh about it:
I understand all the jokes about LeBron James cramping. I get it. But saying he should have been able to play through it is just foolish.
If you truly believe that, you obviously have never had a legit cramping before. Former NBA star Isiah Thomas came out and said “Michael Jordan couldn’t of played through those cramps.” Yes, Isiah Thomas probably isn’t the biggest Jordan fan ever, but he came to LeBron’s defense.
At the time we weren’t 100% sure it was only cramps. It could have been something worse. Head coach Erik Spoelstra didn’t want to risk injuring James any worse, as it was only Game 1 and there is still a lot of basketball left to be played in the series. In the last 3 NBA Finals, the team who won Game 1 went on to lose the series, so this series is anything but over.
Probably my favorite tweet from last night was Candace Parker’s tweet about why Dwyane Wade isn’t using his blue cool wrap he advertises for in commercials. I also liked the LeBron demanding a trade to Minnesota tweet.
