Josh McRoberts and Charlotte Hornets negotiating contract

The NBA free agency period began on Tuesday and everyone in Charlotte is expecting a big move from the Charlotte Hornets.

Lance Stephenson is among the big names the Hornets are pursuing, along with Gordon Hayward and Luol Deng. Shaun Livingston has also been rumored to be targeted by the Hornets.

One move the Charlotte Hornets must make before all that is bringing back fan favorite Josh McRoberts. Last season Josh McRoberts averaged around 8 points per game, and was a crucial part in the Bobcats’ success in reaching the playoffs.

The Hornets drafted Noah Vonleh in the NBA Draft, so it is not the end of the world if Josh McRoberts leaves, but it would be nice to get him back. Not only is McRoberts a good player, but he brings lots of energy to the court, and is a fan-favorite.

If Josh McRoberts re-signs with the Hornets, which at this point seems likely, Charlotte would have lots of depth with McRoberts, Vonleh, and Cody Zeller all being able to play the Power Forward position.

Re-signing Josh McRoberts would help take some of the pressure off of the young Noah Vonleh, letting him ease his way into the NBA, and not feeling pressured to perform right away.
