Lance Stephenson signs with Charlotte Hornets

Well, it’s official!

Lance Stephenson has officially signed with the Charlotte Hornets!

There is a lot of buzz around Charlotte about the signing of Lance Stephenson. It is two years in a row now that Charlotte has landed a big time free agent. Al Jefferson last year, and now Lance.

Lance Stephenson is a “SportsCenter” type of player and personality. Not only will he be a nice addition on the basketball court, but he will give the Charlotte Hornets the national attention they haven’t been getting in recent years.

Rich Cho also added that Charlotte is becoming a “free agent destination.” It is now a place free agents can come and play on a winning basketball team.

The signing is also a bargain for the Hornets. Many thought it would take more than $9 million to sign Lance, so they ended up not having to over-pay for him. Putting him with Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker will put the Hornets in immediate contention in the Eastern Conference.
