Team USA defeats Dominican Republic 106-71

Team USA has now moved to 4-0 in the 2014 FIBA Basketbal World Cup, after a convincing 106 to 71 win against the Dominican Republic.

In the 3rd quarter Team USA went on a 22-0 run that broke the game open and led them to the easy victory.

Denver Nugget Kenneth Faried led Team USA in scoring with 16 points. Faried also pulled down 6 rebounds in the contest.

Stephen Curry had a great all-around game with 8 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins had a great game on the defensive side of the ball with 7 steals. Cousins also had 13 points and 5 rebounds in the game.

Derrick Rose has been labeled as the “leader” and “veteran” of this team since Kevin Durant withdrew himself from the team, although he didn’t have a great game today (6 points) but he has still had a solid FIBA World Cup thus far:

With the win, Team USA has clinched first place in Group C. Nothing to celebrate about, but it’s always great to win games.

Team USA still has one more preliminary match against Ukraine, but it will not mean anything, as Team USA has already clinched 1st place.
