Chris Douglas-Roberts signs with Clippers

Former Charlotte Bobcat Chris Douglas-Roberts (properly known as CDR) has signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.


CDR was a fan favorite last season with the Charlotte Bobcats. It was evident that Chris Douglas-Roberts probably wasn’t coming back to the Charlotte Hornets next season, but the fact it is now 100% official he won’t be wearing purple and teal next season has me very sad.

Congratulations, Clipper fans, you’re getting a great player in CDR.

Chris Douglas-Roberts brought great energy to the Bobcats last year, and was a huge part of their success in reaching the NBA Playoffs. Although the Bobcats got swept by LeBron James and the Miami Heat, CDR had a great postseason.

Charlotte has lost 2 key players from last year’s team now. Josh McRoberts left for the Miami Heat a few months ago. Losing him wasn’t a big deal after the Noah Vonleh pick. In fact, losing McRoberts might have been a good thing for Charlotte.

As much as we all love CDR, the Hornets really don’t need him next year. After signing Lance Stephenson and getting P.J. Hairston, there really was no room left for Chris Douglas-Roberts.
