In honor of the NBPA Awards that took place recently, we here at Swarm and Sting are going to pick a few of our own awards from the Charlotte Hornets team last season.

The National Basketball Players Association recently held their players voice awards for the 2015-2016 season. They handed out some awards for some interesting and new categories that fans may not be familiar with. The awards are not the typical awards that the league hands out. They revealed the winners exclusively on social media and most saw the news via Twitter.

More from Swarm and Sting

We here at Swarm and Sting decided to hand out some player awards for the guys on the Charlotte Hornets. Marvin Williams was the only player to actually win a players voice award this season as he was named the Teammate of the Year for the Hornets.

Among some of the interesting awards that were handed out include Player you secretly wish was on your team, Coach you’d most like to play for, and global impact. There were many other categories that the NBPA handed out awards for but we decided to pick our five favorite ones.

We went with Best Dressed, Best Social Media Follow, Toughest to Guard, Clutch Performer, and Most Influential Veteran. We decided to make out own picks for all of these awards with our reasoning for selecting each player.
