Frank Kaminsky took part in the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge and decided to do his best Ray Allen impersonation as he made nine three’s.

Even though all eyes are focused on Kemba Walker this All-Star weekend, there’s another Charlotte Hornets‘ player taking part in the festivities. Second-year big man Frank Kaminsky played in the Rising Stars Challenge with Team USA. The Tank went off and scored 33 points on 12-16 shooting with nine made three’s.

Even though Team USA fell to Team World, 150-141, Kaminsky showed out and led his side in scoring. Despite scoring 33 points, Frank did not take home the game’s MVP award. Instead, that went to Jamal Murray of Team World who scored 36 points to go along with 11 assists as his side also got the win.

The 23-year old scored a career-high 27 points with the Hornets in the team’s last game before the All-Star game. It appears his good shooting carried over to the Rising Stars Challenge. Even though there’s rarely any defense played in these All-Star games, Kaminsky still knocked down a bunch of open and contested three-point shots.

More from Swarm and Sting

Outside of Frank, Team USA was led by Karl-Anthony Towns who put up 24 points and 11 rebounds while Jonathan Simmons added 19 points. Devin Booker chipped in with 17 points. D’Angelo Russell and Myles Turner both scored 12 on the night.

For Team World, Buddy Hield scored 28 points while Kristaps Porzingis recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 boards. Dario Saric scored 17 as he was one of three Philadelphia 76ers on the two teams.

The Denver Nuggets had three players representing them while the Phoenix Suns, the New York Knicks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz each had a pair of players. In total, 13 NBA teams were represented in the Rising Stars Challenge.

Here’s a look at Frank’s big night:

Kaminsky was on fire from the opening tip even though he didn’t start. As the lone representative for Buzz City in this one, he scored 33 points in only 19 minutes of play.

Hopefully, Frank Kaminsky’s performance carries over to the regular season once the Charlotte Hornets return to action. The seven-footer gets a lot of open three’s with his team so it wouldn’t hurt if he could replicate this performance a few more times this year.
