Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the latest and greatest news and stories from around the web about the Charlotte Hornets.

The Cavs defeated the Raptors while the Rockets beat the Spurs as both took a 1-0 lead in their second round series. The Warriors and Jazz series will get underway tonight. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets having buyers remorse with Miles Plumlee, Frank Kaminsky looking to be more consistent and Cody Zeller failing to make a roster for TBT.

Hornets’ Buyers Remorse With Plumlee (16WinsARing.com)

"The Hornets somehow decided that trading for a man with a horrible extension just signed would be a good man to trade for. Sure, in his 13 games he’s shot 58 percent from the field on less than 2 shots per game but the big is only playing just over 13 minutes per game. That’s practically a million per minute."

Not only was trading an expiring contract for Miles a bad move as he didn’t help Charlotte on the court but the team also failed to get even a second round pick in return for taking on his massive contract. Now they are on the hook for $12.5 million each season for the next three years. There is a strong possibility that Plumlee could be out of the rotation next season.

The Hornets can’t afford dead money and to be shelling out that kind of money to a backup that isn’t going to have a positive impact on a consistent basis. Maybe Rich Cho will find a less competent team to trade him to this year. Surprisingly, Nicolas Batum is not on this list of the 10 worst contracts of 2016 free agency.

Kaminsky Looks to be More Consistent Next Season (NBA.com)

"“I envisioned more consistency than was there. [There was] too many high to lows. That’s just something I’m going to have to work on a lot this summer,” said Kaminsky “If our team is going to take a big step forward next season, I think I’m going to have to be a big part of that.”"

After an up and down sophomore season, Frank puts his focus on becoming more consistent going forward. Kaminsky started the year slow and once he finally found his rhythm, a shoulder injury set him back. He eventually rebounded from that and put together a solid season but being a bit more steady could go a long way.

Even Rich Cho spoke to the 24-year old’s uneven play. Hopefully, his strong finish to the year will carry over into next season and help the University of Wisconsin product get off to a fast start in 2017. Kaminsky finally seems to be coming into his own with Charlotte and that will only pay dividends for the Hornets.

Cody Zeller Fails to Make a TBT Team’s Roster (IndyStar.com)

"As a booster, Zeller — now a starter for the Charlotte Hornets — solicited votes for Armored Athlete to gain entry into the tournament."

Next: Hornets Should Have Kept Christian Wood

Cody’s highlight tape did not do him any favors as he was lobbying for votes to get into The Basketball Tournament this summer. Zeller will have to stick to being a booster once again. He should definitely work on his mini-hoop basketball game though.
