It’s safe to say that Charlotte Hornets’ big man, Frank Kaminsky, was not impressed by Lonzo Ball’s newly released signature shoe.

As the world knows, Lonzo Ball recently released his signature ZO2 shoes. As a part of the Big Baller Brand, the soon to be a top draft pick made news when his shoes debuted with a whopping price of $495 per pair. A certain Charlotte Hornets’ sophomore wasn’t too excited about that price.

After the shoes were announced, Frank Kaminsky tweeted “When I was a kid I could barely get $14.95 for some Starbury’s… “hey mom can I borrow 5hundo for some shoes”. (Twitter/ @FSKPart3) I think the Wisconsin product said what everyone else was thinking about the ZO2’s. That ridiculous price shocked the basketball community.

The $495 price tag comes because of Lonzo’s dad, LaVar, who decided to turn down sponsorship opportunities with Nike, Adidas and Under Armour because he wanted a partnership with those mega-companies instead of the standard sponsorship deal. (CBSsports.com) Without the same resources as those shoe companies, it is no surprise that Ball’s shoes are set at a ludicrous price.

Although the overwhelming majority seems to be turned away by the $495 shoes, there will still be a lot of people who will pre-order them. By going to the Big Baller Brand’s website, you could also get a pair of slides for $220 and an autographed pair of ZO2’s for about $1,000. The cheapest thing on the website is a hat for $32. Even though Frank doesn’t have his own signature pair of shoes, you could bet that if he did, they wouldn’t cost close to $500. It is actually pretty surprising that no member of the Charlotte Hornets’ currently has their own signature shoe. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is probably the closest as he is leading face of the Jordan B. Fly shoes. (SlamOnline.com)

It is likely only a matter of time before Kemba Walker gets his own signature shoe with Jordan Brand as he has not only become the face of the Charlotte Hornets but also a more prominent name among casual basketball fans. After making his first all-star game this past season, his stock and popularity are at a high and if he continues to play well, a signature shoe should be right around the corner.

Lonzo Ball and his dad continue to be the talk of the town leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft and these shoes were just another talking point. Clearly, Frank Kaminsky is not a fan of the price.
