Buzz City Beat is Swarm and Sting’s one stop for the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

Only a few days out from the NBA Finals, the focus has shifted from basketball to Memorial Day Weekend as the United States of America remembers fallen military members. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at Briante Weber dominating a celebrity all-star game, the Charlotte Hornets potentially drafting Jarrett Allen at No. 11 and Nicolas Batum trying to recruit Antoine Griezmann.

Briante Weber Dominates in Celebrity All-Star Game (MakePlayz.com)

"Briante Weber of the Charlotte Hornets (VCU alumni) made his way home to the 757 last night for the Kam Chancellor Celebrity All-Star Game. The game featured a number of NFL stars such as Kam Chancellor, Josh Norman, Tyrod Taylor, and many more. And without much of a surprise, it was Briante Weber who stole the show. Future looks bright for the NBA rookie!"

Briante Weber put on a show during this Celebrity All-Star Game. It may have been against a bunch of football players and other celebrities but the Hornets’ point guard made the event well worth the price of admission with his highlight dunks and plays. He displayed his incredible bounce and even knocked down a three in the process.

The rookie threw down some dunk contest worthy slams during the game. Fellow NBA player, Kyle O’Quinn, took part in the game as well and Briante managed to completely fake him out on a play. The best part was Weber ending the event by dancing around in Charlotte Hornets’ gear.

What if the Hornets select Jarrett Allen at No. 11? (SirCharlesInCharge.com)

"Charlotte doesn’t necessarily need a player to come in and make a huge impact immediately, but they kind of can’t miss on this pick either. Allen would be asked to come in and learn the game, and speed, before being asked to carry any type of significant load."

Allen, like many of the potential lottery picks this year, is an intriguing prospect. The 6’10 big man has an impressive 7’5 wingspan and knows how to use it to his advantage. He is a tremendous rebounder and scorer down low despite not having a great post game yet. If the Hornets do take Jarrett, he will be a bit of a project.

While the skills and potential are there, he still needs time to develop and grow into a true NBA center. If Charlotte doesn’t believe that Cody Zeller will be their starting center in a few years then taking the Texas product at 11th overall could be a good investment. It isn’t very often that you can find this much talent late in the lottery but the Hornets will have their pick as multiple top prospects will be available.

Batum trying to recruit Antoine Griezmann? (Twitter/ @Nicolas88Batum)

"Good job Grizou ! Manque juste le maillot des Hornets"

Next: Malik Monk is worth trading up for

Soccer superstar, Antoine Griezmann, put his basketball skills on display in a recent video of him making six consecutive three’s in a Boston Celtics’ jersey. Nic attempted to recruit his fellow Frenchman to exchange that top for a Charlotte Hornets’ one instead. Maybe Batum can invite the Atletico Madrid star to a couple of games in the Queen City this year.
