Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the latest and greatest news and stories from around the web about the Charlotte Hornets.

The NBA Finals are only a couple of days away from starting as the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will face off for the third consecutive season. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets eyeing draft prospect Tyler Lydon, Perry Ellis working out for the Sacramento Kings and Michael Jordan‘s Olympic jersey up for auction.

"the Facebook page affiliated with the Charlotte Hornets released a video that displays just how explosive and versatile Tyler Lydon is. The 6-foot-9 Forward received well deserved praise in the video for his ability to drive and hit both the mid-range and three."

While it is unlikely that Charlotte selects Lydon with their lottery pick, the forward prospect is moving up draft boards. Tyler is projected to go late in the first round (DraftExpress.com) but there is a slight possibility that he could slip to the second round. The best chance the Hornets have at grabbing him is to trade into the later stages in the first round.

The Syracuse product is coming off of a year where he averaged 13.2 points per game and 8.6 rebounds during his sophomore season. He could be a valuable addition to Charlotte’ bench as they could use small forward depth. Although with Frank Kaminsky on the roster and Lydon as a bit of a tweener, it may be tough for him to break into the rotation.

"In a bit of a twist on the usual prospect workouts held around this time of the year, the Kings actually held a free agent mini-camp today featuring some fringe NBA players."

After going undrafted in 2016, Ellis spent the past season with the Hornets’ D-League team in the Greensboro Swarm. He put together an impressive year and then raised plenty of eyebrows with his performance at the NBA D-League Elite Combine this summer. The Kansas product recently signed a deal with the Sydney Kings of the NBL in Australia.

Now he is back stateside and working out with a number of other NBA free agents like Jack Cooley, Bryce Cotton, Ben Bentil, Alonzo Gee, Chris Johnson, Phil Pressey and JaKarr Sampson. It is unclear if the Kings will sign the big man but at least Perry is getting more looks than before. This is a step in the right direction for the former Greensboro Swarm player.

MJ’s 1984 Olympics Jersey receives $10,000 opening bid (CharlotteObserver.com)

"If anyone out there thinks NBA legend and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan is old news, keep in mind that one of his Olympics jerseys is up for auction, and the starting bid is a whopping $10,000."

Michael Jordan memorabilia is still worth a lot of money. The bids will likely continue to pour in as this jersey will go for an exuberant amount of money. The U.S. Men’s Basketball Team took home the gold medal during the 1984 Olympics and now someone can have a piece of history for thousands of dollars.
