Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

Jay Triano has officially agreed to join James Borrego’s staff as the top assistant. (Woj) In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at Collin Sexton meeting with the Charlotte Hornets, Pat Delaney possibly joining David Fizdale’s staff in New York and one free agent that the team should look to keep.

Hornets expected to workout Collin Sexton (CharlotteObserver.com)

"Sexton said he met with Hornets management this week and anticipates working out in Charlotte before the draft."

Although a date hasn’t been made official, Charlotte bringing in Sexton for a workout makes perfect sense for both sides. Most mocks have Collin landing towards the end of the lottery (9-14) and with the Hornets holding the No. 11 pick and them needing point guard depth, it’s easy to see why they would take a closer look at the Alabama product. NBADraft.net compares Sexton to Eric Bledsoe.

He also met with the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls at the Draft Combine. (BleacherReport.com) Collin is listed at 6’1 and has a 6’7 wingspan which ranked as the fourth longest wingspan of any point guard at the combine. The 19-year old 19.2 PPG, 3.8 RPG and 3.6 APG during his lone year at the University of Alabama.

"Former Heat scout and Hornets assistant Pat Delaney is a candidate to join David Fizdale’s staff, according to sources."

With Charlotte’s coaching staff getting a complete makeover, it makes sense that the assistants who were under Steve Clifford are looking for a new coaching opprotunity. Delaney originally joined Charlotte in 2014 and has been an assistant with them ever since. Before joining the Hornets, Pat was the head coach of the Sioux Falls SKyforce of the NBA G-League.

It now appears that he may be joining David Fizdale in the Big Apple. The Knicks hired Fiz this offseason after they fired Jeff Hornacek. Delaney and Fizdale worked alongside each other for the Miami Heat from 2008-13.

One free agent for Charlotte to retain (247Sports.com)

"The Charlotte Hornets only have two free agents this upcoming summer in Michael Carter-Williams and Treveon Graham. Neither player really warrants being re-signed by the Hornets."

I disagree with this statement. I believe that Treveon Graham does warrant re-signing. Although the Hornets have plenty of wing depth with Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeremy Lamb, Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon, Treveon proved his worth. He is versatile enough to play both forward spots and was one of the team’s best three-and-D players.

Next: The "Yea, but..." argument for every draft prospect

He managed to shoot 41.2% from deep last season which was the second-highest mark of any Hornets’ player who averaged at least one three-point shot attempt per game. If Charlotte can’t create the cap space to bring Graham back, he will definitely be signed by another team. As for MCW, there’s no way that they re-sign him.
