Pick Analysis. GONZAGA. 9. 142. Scouting Report. PF. BRANDON CLARKE. player

Brandon Clarke is my personal favorite prospects in this years draft. He would be my top choice for the Hornets, but in this mock draft, he won’t make it down that far. Washington would be smart to scoop him up here at ninth overall.

Clarke transferred from San Jose State to Gonzaga this past season, and he was a beast for the entire season. He averaged 16.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and a whopping 3.2 blocks. He also shot 69 percent from the field, showcasing his incredible efficiency. Clarke even had a 36 point game (15-18 FG) against Baylor in the NCAA Tournament.

He stands 6’8″ tall, but only has a 6’8″ wingspan. That isn’t ideal, but it doesn’t really matter for a guy like Clarke, who has mastered the art of timing on his blocked shots. Plus, he’s really quick for his size, which allows him to switch and defend guards on the perimeter, which is important in today’s NBA.

In my opinion, Clarke is going to be an elite defender in the NBA. He’s shown the ability to stretch the floor at times, and while his jump shot isn’t exactly pretty, he can knock it down from deep. He’d be a great fit for a lot of teams picking in the lottery, including Charlotte.
