Since the Halloween season is upon us it’s time to analyze if these prospects are tricks or treats for the Charlotte Hornets roster?

The Charlotte Hornets have the number three overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft and there are so many great players that the Hornets can pick up. The Hornets can make big changes to their roster and make a major playoff push this upcoming season. The Hornets can finally have some momentum going into next season.

Now the draft prospects the Hornets can grab are plentiful and can propel Charlotte to a new competitive level. This year’s draft prospects are very talented and can make this Hornets team a serious Eastern Conference contender.

Anthony Edwards

The SEC phenom out of Athens will be a super talented player in the NCAA and could elevate any NBA roster. The Georgia alum had an outstanding year playing division one basketball for the Bulldogs. Edwards has elite athleticism and was punishing around the rim this past NCAA season.

Edwards averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and nearly three assists per game. Edwards shot an efficient 40% and logged a steal a game. Defensively Edwards is really good where he ranked 11th in steals in the SEC and ranked 12th in steals per game in the SEC. Edwards was the SEC Freshman of the Year and made the All-SEC 2nd team.

But would he be a good fit for the Charlotte Hornets?

Looking at the Hornets roster, I’m not sure if Edwards would be a great fit for the Hornets. Obviously, he would improve the Hornets offensively and defensively but unfortunately, I think Edwards backlogs the Hornets at the guard position. Adding Edwards gives the Hornets five guards: Terry Rozier, Anthony Edwards, Devonte’ Graham, Malik Monk, and Dwayne Bacon.

Obviously adding him to the roster would improve the Hornets roster but would cause them to make major roster changes. Now whether the changes are necessary is up to the Hornets front office but with our current roster, Edwards is not the best option for Charlotte.

Hypothetically if the Hornets moved around some of the other guards then Edwards would be a better fit for the Hornets but with their current roster, I don’t see him fitting into the Hornets roster.

VERDICT: Double-Bubble(Half Trick/Half Treat)

Getting Double-Bubble at Halloween is kind of a toss-up. Obviously, Double-Bubble is delicious but you can get that from Mr.Sonny at any time of the year after a haircut. It’s good and it’s appreciated but can I just get a Twix?
