Thumbs Up: Malik Monk’s Career Night

Malik Monk was the reason why the Charlotte Hornets won the game, make no mistake about it. Monk went off with a career-high 36 points in a season-high of 39 minutes of play. Monk also made a career-high 9 three-pointers.

Monk was all over the court tonight, further proving to the coaching staff that he can be effective when given more minutes. With the game winding down and the Hornets down 110-113, Monk made a three-pointer, tying the game at 113 with 16.3 seconds left on the clock, sending the game into overtime.

If nothing else Monk has proven that he deserves more playing time. In his last two games, Malik Monk has scored 54 points. We’ll see if he proved himself enough to continue getting big minutes. If I was a betting man, I would bet that we’ll be seeing a lot more of #1.
