Buzz City Beat is Swarm and Sting’s one stop for the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

The Golden State Warriors became the second team to secure their spot in the second round of the playoffs this postseason as they eliminated the Portland Trail Blazers. Houston will be looking to follow them as they attempt to knock off the Oklahoma City Thunder. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets postmortem, Jordan Brand jerseys for next season and season grade.

Hornets’ Postmortem, What’s Next? (WashingtonPost.com)

"Specifically, Charlotte could use a big, and there are some young players — Gonzaga’s Zach Collins or Texas’s Jarrett Allen — who make sense in such a spot. But whichever direction Charlotte goes, the hope is the Hornets take a swing for the fences. This team, perhaps more than just about any other, needs a home run."

Five questions going forward for the team are what will they do with their draft pick, can Frank Kaminsky take another step, can MKG provide more offense, was this Walker’s best season and how will Rich Cho approach contract year? These will all be answered in due time and how they are answered will determine Charlotte’s success for next season.

The Hornets have no cap space, only one free agent (Brian Roberts) and two draft picks. Somehow, they need to find a way to get better. The quote above says Charlotte could use a big but I would argue that they need a guard above all else. They need to add shooting/scoring. The team doesn’t have the option to be picky in the draft. They need to select the best possible player.

Charlotte Will be Only NBA Team to Wear Jordan Brand Jerseys Next Season (Uproxx.com)

"For 29 teams, the iconic swoosh will appear on their uniforms. For the Charlotte Hornets, a certain Jumpman logo will be on their jerseys."

It may not seem like a big deal but having the Jordan logo on their jerseys will differentiate Charlotte from every other team in the league. Even though Jordan is part of Nike, no other NBA team will be able to have the Jumpman on their uniforms. Here is what the jerseys may look like for next season.

With small ads now being allowed on uniforms, it’s refreshing that the Hornets won’t have some gimmicky logo on their jersey. The team is still looking and working with Jordan for the right sponsor fit to pair with the Jumpman logo. This is just one perk of having Michael Jordan as your owner.

Season Grade (CBSsports.com)

"Hana Ostapchuk is joined by Ethan Skolnick to give the season grade for the Charlotte Hornets."

Next: Making a Trade for Porzingis

Ethan noted that Kemba Walker took a step forward but the team as a whole took a few steps back as they struggled without Cody Zeller in the lineup. The down season resulted in a C grade for the Hornets. That’s pretty fair and considering how disappointing they were, the grade could’ve been lower.
