The first month for the Charlotte Hornets did not quite go as planned. Initially, they were expected to be a contender for a top four spot in the Eastern Conference, instead they struggled to win even four games the entire first month. After two wins in a row they currently sit at 6 and 15, and are just starting to creep back up the standings. With the Eastern Conference being so weak there is still time for them to assert themselves as playoff contenders.

Despite the struggles, there were times when individuals shined bright. That gave me the idea to come up with a piece discussing the best individual performance by each starter during the NBA’s first full month. Spoiler alert; three of these games come from an October 29th opening night win over the Milwaukee Bucks, while the other two games from the exciting victory over Atlanta.

Is it a bummer that five of the best performances of the first month were in the season opener and a November 7th game? Yes, yes it is. The lack of good performances after that first game seems to explain the poor record that sits before us today. Instead of dwelling, lets reminisce about those epic wins.
