Game: November 7th Charlotte vs. Atlanta 122-119
Stats: 17 points, 4 assists, 13 rebounds
Lance Stephenson has had a tumultuous start to his season, but he has shown flashes of brilliance. Against Atlanta Stephenson scored 17 points, pounded the glass grabbing 13 rebounds, while also dishing out 4 assists.
Rather than settling for mid-range jumpers, Lance made an effort to get into the paint. He scored a few buckets in the down low, and also got to the line twice. Like Kemba Walker’s effort against the Bucks, Stephenson gets extra points for the clutch factor.
After seemingly letting an easy win slip away, Charlotte found themselves tied with Atlanta at 119. It looked as if the game was about to head into its third overtime. Instead, Stephenson banked in a long three-point attempt out of a sideline inbounds play to give the Hornets another last second victory. It has been Stephenson’s best moment in Charlotte, so far.
