The Charlotte Hornets’ Bench Leads the Way in 105-94 Win Over the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 104-95, to win their third game of the year and improve to (3-4) on the season. The Hornets were led by the strong play of their bench in this one as they racked up 57 points on 22 of 37 shooting from the field. They outscored the Timberwolves bench by 34 points.
All of the starters, except for Marvin Williams with +3, finished with a negative plus/minus. While the bench, except for Frank Kaminsky who played limited minutes, finished with a positive plus/minus with all of them being over +10 expect for Brian Roberts who was +9.
It was a great night for both Jeremy’s in a Charlotte Hornets uniform as Jeremy Lamb and Jeremy Lin led the way for the team. Jeremy Lamb finished with 18 points on 8-10 shooting from the field and 2-3 from deep. He was the player of the game for the Hornets. Lin added 19 points and three assists on 6-11 shooting from the floor and 6-8 from the free throw line.
Many of the Charlotte Hornets’ starters struggled in this one but the bench came through for the team and helped them get the win over the T-wolves. A game like this shows exactly what the Hornets’ bench is capable of. Lamb, Lin, and Zeller can give the team quality minutes night in and night out. And if they can do it for the rest of the season on a consistent basis, then that would bode well for the team as a whole.

The Minnesota Timberwolves were without a few key players in this one but still managed to put up a good fight against Charlotte. Andrew Wiggins, Ricky Rubio, and Kevin Garnett all sat out in this game with injuries or rest.
P.J. Hairston was feeling dizziness during the second quarter and didn’t return to the game because of a migraine. He shouldn’t be out for their next game as the injury isn’t serious.
The free throw line kept the Hornets in the game for much of the first half, until the bench and Jeremy Lamb took over the game from that point on.
Even though the Timberwolves were missing three of their starters, this is still a quality win for the Charlotte Hornets. The bench played well enough to get them the win, while the starters had a bit of an off night. This should build confidence for the team going forward.
