The Charlotte Hornets Look to Beat the Streak Against the Golden State Warriors

The Charlotte Hornets are set to take on the undefeated Golden State Warriors and look to be the first team to beat the streak this season.

The Charlotte Hornets (10-7) will face the undefeated Golden State Warriors (19-0) and try to be the first team to defeat them this season. The Hornets will need a lot of luck on their side in this one but don’t count them out just yet because they do have a chance to compete and beat the unbeatable.

Charlotte will be without their best big man in Al Jefferson who is out two to three weeks with a left calf strain. This will make the task at hand even more difficult.

This will be the last home game on the Hornets current seven game home stand. They have gone 5-1 on the home stand so far and are 8-2 at home this season. The Hive has become a real home court advantage for the team and they have played greta at home. That should help them and give them a better chance to steal this one tonight.

The Warriors are the best team in the NBA this season and it really isn’t even close in any statistical category or by the eye test. They have virtually no weaknesses. They are the best offensive team in the league and are averaging 115.3 points per game.

More from Swarm and Sting

Just to take a look at Steph Curry this year, he is averaging 31.6 points per game, 6.0 assists per game, and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 51.2% from the field, 44.5% from three, and 94.1% from the free throw line.

Kemba Walker will have the task of guarding Steph tonight and maybe Kemba can keep up with his speed of=r tire him out on the offensive end. Walker has had a great season and maybe he can add to it by defeating Steph and the Warriors.

The few things that the Charlotte Hornets will have going for them in this one is that they will be honoring Dell Curry and that could possibly give them some added motivation or energy. They will also be wearing their “BuzzCity” uniforms for the first time this season.  Golden State is also traveling all the way to the east coast in this one and maybe that will affect their play.

Biggest Story:

Dell Curry to be honored tonight.

The former Charlotte Hornet will be honored on the night when his son, Steph Curry, comes to town to play the team tonight. Dell Curry is the franchises’ all time leading scorer and leads in many other categories as well.

He is one of the best Charlotte Hornets of all time and he has since continued his connection with the team by being an analyst on FOX Sports Southeast and commentating the games. It will be a big night for not only Dell but for everyone in Charlotte.

Best Match-up to Watch:

Steph Curry vs the Charlotte Hornets Defense

Steph Curry is easily the best shooter of all-time and is arguably the best basketball player on the planet right now. He is shooting the lights out every night and scoring at an unreal clip. He is an unbelievable talent.

You won’t believe how good he is when you watch him play. The Charlotte Hornets will have their hands full tonight and will have to do everything in their power to stop the reigning MVP. Even if they can slow him down, the Warriors have four other guys on the court at all times that can shoot and score as well.

This game will definitely be a test for the Charlotte Hornets defense. No team has been able to stop the Warriors yet so don’t be surprised if the Hornets can’t but also don’t count them out. I’m pretty convinced that Steph and the rest of the team will never have an off-night shooting but it is always a possibly. Anything is possible.
