Jerry Stephens: Billy Donovan is the new head coach in Oklahoma City this year, how do you think his first season has gone with the team? Would you call it a success so far?

David Ramil: My biggest concern with Donovan was how he’d be able to handle the personalities of a professional team after two decades at the collegiate level. While this team is pretty tight-lipped with the media, there have been no reports of grumbling or major issues with Donovan. Part of that has to do with a great group of assistant coaches (notably Mo Cheeks and Monty Williams) but reports indicate that Donovan is willing to listen to this players and make adjustments as needed.

He’s learned to stagger his rotations as the season moved forward and has learned to balance his lineups to make the most out of everyone’s strengths while minimizing their weaknesses. Overall, I would say it has been successful but, fair or not, he (and the team) will be judged on their postseason success.
