2. The Charlotte Hornets’ style of play has been different this season than in the past, do you think that the Charlotte Hornets play style will change once MKG returns or will it remain the same?
Jerry Stephens: I think that the Charlotte Hornets’ style of play will remain the same but with better results. MKG adds better defense than Hairston offers and he will be able to finish at the rim and attack the lane. They will still shoot threes but hopefully rebound and defend a lot better.
Connor Penegar: Even with the addition of a familiar piece in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, I think that this Hornets team is still totally different from years past. With the addition of Nic Batum, the Hornets are much more able on the offensive end, and now with MKG, the team will be much improved on the defensive end. I see a continuation of the playing style that the Hornets continuing with MKG’s return, and I think his return might bolster the three-point shooting of the squad. MKG’s presence and knack for driving the ball will cause movement in the defense, leading to more open shooters.
DeShawn White: Hmm… to an extent the style will change. I can see Head Coach Steve Clifford smiling and salivating over this. I see more aggression to get in the lane and draw fouls as well as get rebounds. Plus, the defensive mindset will be heavily enforced by the best defensive player for the Hornets squad. I think a little less threes, more assists and roughly the same amount of points.
