5. What are you most looking forward to with MKG’s return to the Charlotte Hornets?
Jerry Stephens: His individual lockdown defense is what I am most looking forward to. He is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and that will surely help the team this season. I miss seeing him out there on the court playing hard. I am also intrigued to see how much his outside shot has improved since last season.
Connor Penegar: One thing that I’m really looking forward to with MKG’s return to the team is to see his shot. It has gotten exponentially better from when he came into the league. To be honest, it started really bad, but over his young career, he has worked tirelessly to get his shot fixed. We saw glimpses of this improvement last year, when MKG could knock down the occasional three-ball and midrange jumper. I hope that he worked on his shot so he could be seen as not only a great slasher and driver, but a guy you can’t let take an open jumper.
DeShawn White: Honestly, the tenacity that he shows in every game is the reason why he’s one of the best young defenders in the league. MKG can hound you all game and seemingly never lose his juice. The energy he provides is immeasurable to the team, and his defensive aggression is still only getting better. As the backbone of this Charlotte team, MKG will bring the buzz back into the playoffs. With help from his team, of course.
