6. What Does MKG’s return mean for P.J. Hairston?
Jerry Stephens: It means that he will return to the role that he would’ve had before MKG got injured. He will return to the bench and play the small forward position off of the bench. It will give the team added wing depth so that is a positive. He also got valuable minutes in MKG’s absence.
Connor Penegar: PJ is going to the bench when MKG returns. I view him as having a pretty big role on the second team. As we’ve seen, PJ has become a good defender, and he can come on the floor and pick up the opposition’s best player on the floor. This could free up defensive obligations for either J-Lin or J-Lamb, both of whom had to guard the best player on the opposing team’s bench.
DeShawn White: As of now, P.J. starts until MKG is ready or another wing is acquired. Once he returns, P.J. is the back-up unless, as previously stated, another wing is acquired. Still might get the edge in minutes over anyone new since he knows the system Coach Clifford uses though.
