Charlotte Hornets Round Table Discussion: All-Star Edition
4. The Charlotte Hornets have not had an All-Star player since Gerald Wallace in 2010, when will the team get their next All-Star?
Jerry Stephens:
I think that the Charlotte Hornets will get an all-star next year when Kemba Walker makes his first team. He was so close to making it this season but fell just short. With the All-Star game being held in Charlotte next season, the Hornets have to have a player that makes the Eastern Conference team. It would be strange to host the game and not have a player in it. I don’t think that has happened in recent memory.
DeShawm White:
I think this is a good year for them, but next year will bring them an All-Star. With the rising cap and players getting more comfortable in Charlotte, I really believe a Hornet will get the nod to be included in the festivities.
Connor Penegar:
Next year, the Hornets will surely have an All-Star. In my view, Kemba should have been an All-Star this year, and he was absolutely screwed by the NBA. Walker is going to use this snub as motivation, and he will be in the All-Star Game next year in the Queen City. Maybe the Hornets go after a free agent during the summer or Batum or MKG play to All-Star levels, but I see Kemba as being a near-lock to make the East Team next year.
