4. Joakim Noah
Joakim Noah did not have a great 2015-2016 season. He was first relegated to the bench by the Chicago Bulls new head coach in Fred Hoiberg. He then suffered a dislocated left shoulder after only playing in 29 games for the year. His season was done and his value would take a big hit.
When healthy, Noah was one of the best defensive centers in the league. He won the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award in the 2013-2014 season. He was also one of the top passing big men in the NBA. If he is healthy entering next season, then there is no reason the Charlotte Hornets shouldn’t go after him.
Joakim averaged 4.3 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, and 8.8 rebounds per game in limited action last year. Noah has a passion for the game that is shown in his play and he could be a great addition to the Hornets. He would bring a defensive presence that the team needs while also being able to help create on the offensive end of the floor.
If Noah is healthy and recovered from his shoulder surgery, then he should be a top-tier big man in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls reportedly want to re-sign him but anything can happen in free agency. Joakim’s value may have taken a hit with his recent injury so Charlotte may be able to get him at a discount.
