3. Hassan Whiteside

Hassan Whiteside may be one of the top free agents on the market this off-season. He is a steal for the Miami Heat now as they are only paying him $981,348 this year. He will be in for a huge pay-day that will likely be a max contract.

  • The Charlotte Hornets will have plenty of free cap space to throw their money into a lot of players. But if they want to re-sign their current players, then that might not leave a lot of room left to sign Whiteside. It will be interning to see but that those numbers will only become clear once the free agent period has started.

Hassan Whiteside is a flat-out beast. He completely dominated the Charlotte Hornets in their first round series this season. He averaged 14.2 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game, and 3.7 blocks per game this year. He also shot an incredible 60.6% from the field. He was one of the top big men in the league.

The only reason Whiteside isn’t number one on this list is because of his price tag. He will cost a max contract and if the Charlotte Hornets give him that, then they won’t be able to re-sign their own free agents like Nicolas Batum, Jeremy Lin, Marvin Williams, and Courtney Lee.
