2. Dwight Howard

The Charlotte Hornets have been linked to Dwight Howard prior to the off-season. It was reported that Charlotte was looking to make a deal for Howard at the trade deadline. They obviously weren’t able to make a deal but they may be able to grab Dwight in free agency.

Even though he hasn’t been the Dwight Howard of old, he has still put up some good numbers. Dwight has played through various injuries over the past few seasons. This past year, he averaged 13.7 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game, and 1.6 blocks per game.

If he is healthy and can play most of the season without getting injured, then Howard could be a great signing for any team that wants him. He isn’t an unrestricted free agent just yet but he will likely decline his player option so that he can hit the open market. Dwight has clearly had problems with most of his teammates on the Houston Rockets this season.

Howard might not be worth a max contract but it could be close to that. The Charlotte Hornets might be best to avoid Dwight because of his history of teammate problems but if he could figure that out, then he could actually be a great center option for the team. We will only find out in due time.
