As a UNC fan, I can tell you first hand that Brice Johnson is a baller. He rebounds extremely well for a power forward and he plays great defense when asked to rotate. Johnson has extremely good post moves and can hit the 15 to 20 foot jump shot consistently.
Very few big men run the floor like he does in transition and he finishes at the rim with authority. Everyone in the nation got to witness how good he was this past college basketball season.
Cons
Now after heaping praise on him, let us look at why he slides all the way to the 22nd pick. Johnson is very thin and even though he put on weight at UNC, it is still not enough for the next level. Stronger players have no problem posting Johnson up and taking him to the basket.
Another knock on Johnson is he struggles making good passes at times. His turnover numbers went up throughout his whole career at UNC. You could say it was due to more playing time but they did go up.
NBA Comparison
Nerlens Noel with better offense but not as big.
