Nic Batum was set to be the team’s shooting guard last season after years of being a small forward, but the injury to MKG forced Nicolas to play the three for the Hornets. He was more of a point forward as he was the secondary ball handler behind Kemba. He did a great job of creating for his teammates in his expanded offensive role.

Batum may be the most valuable player to Charlotte going forward as he has just re-signed with them on a five-year, $120 million deal. He will have to live up to the expectations of being a top guard in the NBA next season after signing such a big contract. His all-around game of being able to defend, score, rebound, and distribute can help this team maintain success next season.

Nic saw career highs in points per game and assists per game with the Hornets last year. He will look to improve on his decision-making as he led the team with 2.9 turnovers per game. Charlotte will be banking on Batum to remain healthy as he missed 12 games last year due to injuries.
