After a career season with the Hornets last year, Marvin Williams was rewarded with a four-year, $54.5 million deal this offseason. He posted career highs in rebounds, blocks, and three-point shooting, the 6’9 forward will be looking to build on that with yet another impressive season this year.

Williams worked hard last summer to improve his outside shot and it showed in his play. He reinvented his game and it fit perfectly into the style of the Hornets’ new offensive system. Coach Clifford believed in Marvin after a poor first season in Charlotte and his leadership in the locker room and on the defensive end of the floor were game changers for the franchise and team as a whole.

Marvin may be the unsung hero of the team and the captain that gets everyone going. He is the veteran presence that keeps the players cohesive and he has the trust of all of his teammates and coaches. Williams is always hustling to every loose ball and battling for every rebound. After playing in 81 games this past season, he will be called upon even more this year as the team looks to become a contender in the East.
