Charlotte Hornets Round Table Discussion: Schedule Edition
3. What game are you most excited for this season?
Jerry Stephens: I am looking forward to the New Year’s Eve Game on December 31st against the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James and the defending NBA Champions will come to Charlotte before ringing in the new year. I can’t think of a better way to end 2016 than with an upset victory over LeBron and the Cavs.
Luke Spencer: There isn’t a specific game that I’m excited for this season, but I’m anxious to see whether or not the Hornets can step up and compete against the better teams in the Western Conference. Teams like the Thunder and Clippers have basically owned the Hornets for the past few seasons and I would like to see the Hornets step up and at least win their home games against teams like these.

Laieke Abebe: I’m really excited for the January 25th matchup against the Warriors in Charlotte. The best part is that the game is on ESPN, so more people will get to see the Hornets than usual. The Hornets didn’t have a nationally televised game until the playoffs last season. It will be great for them to get national exposure and an upset win will get people to talk about this team more.
Gamaliel Panuyas: There are two games I’m looking forward to this season and those are against Brooklyn and Indiana. I’m looking forward to the Brooklyn game because of Lin. That’s it. But for the Pacers match-up, I want to see our bigs vesus Big Al battling down low. I was really saddened by his departure and I want to see the Hornets beat the Pacers.
Max Seng: I’ll be keen to watch any games against the best the Eastern Conference has to offer. There’s an old saying in sports that goes “good teams take care of business at home and against lesser teams” (paraphrasing of course). The Hornets mostly did that last season, but fell short against the upper half of the league. Charlotte went a combined 3-9 against Cleveland, Boston and Toronto last season, the perceived top three teams in the East heading into this season. That will have to improve if the Hornets hope to secure a top-4 spot in the conference in 2016-17.
