7. Losing the 2017 All-Star Game

July 21st, 2016

The joy that was receiving the 2017 All-Star Game was equaled by the disappointment that was losing it in 2016. This was probably the worst moment of the year. It hurt every Hornets’ fan and more importantly, the entire city of Charlotte that was expecting the game.

The controversial HB2 was the reason the NBA decided to move the game to New Orleans, Louisiana. Tough pill to swallow for Charlotte but the league did what they thought was best. The Queen City could receive the All-Star game in 2019 but after missing their chance in 2017, it is still unclear at this time.

Until a change is made to the law in North Carolina, the ASG won’t be in Charlotte.
