5. Game Five Win Gives Charlotte a 3-2 Lead Over Miami

April 27th, 2016

The Charlotte Hornets looked like a fish out of water in their first tow playoff games against the Heat. Many expected them to get swept in four games but they responded by winning three straight and taking a 3-2 lead after five games. To the surprise of many, the team was able to pull off the upset win, 90-88, in Miami.

Who can forget Courtney Lee‘s game-winning three-point in the final minute? Everyone will remember that as it was one of the most iconic moments of the season. The win would send the hornets back to Charlotte with a chance to close out the series at home.

Even though they weren’t able to win the first round series against their divisional rivals, the Hornets put themselves on the map. They proved that they had what it takes to compete and win a playoff series. Game Five was an ecstatic moment and it should be remembered in all it’s glory for years to come.

Thank you, Courtney Lee, for giving all of us a historic moment.
