Charlotte Hornets: Kemba Walker Wants to be Considered One of the Elites
Kemba Walker‘s tireless work ethic with the Charlotte Hornets can be attributed to the fact that he wants to be considered one of the best players.
Michael Jordan recently spoke to TNT about his all-star point guard and had some positive things to say. Speaking about Kemba, MJ told Dennis Scott “He works so hard. He wants to be considered one of the elite players.” We constantly hear about Kemba Walker’s tireless work ethic so it’s no surprise that the Charlotte Hornets‘ owner would say this about him.
The proof is in the pudding for the 26-year old. He has gotten better each season with his most dramatic improvements coming in his jump shot and improved scoring efficiency. Kemba is enjoying the best year of his career this season and it is thanks in large part to his grind.

Averaging 23 points per game, 5.5 assists per game and 4.1 rebounds per game this season, Walker is putting up a career mark in points. Not to mention that he’s also shooting career high’s from the field (45%) and from three (40.6%). By looking at his number from when he first entered the league, Kemba’s developmental has been substantial over his six-year NBA career.
While there were seasons of what looked like regression, Walker has turned himself into one of the top players at his position in the league. His development has been highlighted by his stellar play over the past two seasons and even more so when Kemba was named to his first all-star game this year.
Here’s What Michael Jordan had to say about when asked about Kemba Walker:
Jordan adds to the list of teammates and coaches who have praised Walker’s work ethic throughout the years. Caron Butler (ThePlayersTribune.com), Steve Clifford and Bruce Kreutzer, the Hornets’ shooting coach who helped Kemba drastically improve his shot, have all had nothing but great things to say about the 6’1 guard’s effort to get better. From my perspective, Kemba’s hard work has paid off. He has become one of the best point guards in the NBA and is a budding star in this league. Walker’s numbers and shooting percentages speak for themselves. While he might not wildly be considered elite just yet, he is working his way towards that label.
