Charlotte Hornets: Low-Risk, High-Reward options in free agency
Brandon Jennings
Of all the players on this list, Jennings had the most down season of them all. The scoring point guard only averaged 7.1 points per game for the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards. That number dropped to 3.5 PPG after he was traded mid-season.
Around the trade deadline, the Hornets were linked with Brandon. They thought about making a move for eight-year NBA veteran but held off for whatever reason. Charlotte probably made the right decision on that with how bad he was in Washington.
Entering this summer, the former 10th overall pick will be looking for a new team and maybe he could spark the Hornets interest once again. In six of his eight career seasons, Jennings averaged over 15 points per game. When he’s on, Brandon is a great scorer who can get his shot off against just about anyone. Unfortunately, those times have been few and far between.
Maybe playing behind Kemba and under Clifford can revitalize his career. He’s looking for a fresh start and the Queen City can give that to him. He would probably only cost Charlotte their BAE because of his recent struggles. He is the ultimate Low-risk, high-reward move.
