The Charlotte Hornets’ roster may be different but their starting lineup will probably resemble that of last year’s team with a couple changes.
This has been a busy offseason for the Charlotte Hornets as they’ve made a number of additions to their team. Barring an unexpected trade or injury, the starting lineup for the 2017-18 season is most likely already set. They finished with a 36-46 record and missed out on the playoffs for the 10th time in 13 seasons.

After the down season, we may see a change to the team’s starting lineup as Charlotte looks to rebound and get back into the playoffs.
Steve Clifford’s go to starting five last year was Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller. That group only appeared in 47 games together as Zeller missed a number of games due to multiple injuries. Although, when this starting lineup did play, the Hornets di find success going 27-20.
With the additions of Dwight Howard, Malik Monk and Michael Carter-Williams, the Hornets’ rotation will look a lot different from last year’s. Whether or not they will be better remains to be seen but expectations are high for the Queen City team after improving across multiple fronts.
Despite the changes, the starting five will likely look similar to that of last season with one big change. The second unit/bench should also get a boost with a new sixth man.
Here is a projected starting five for Charlotte next season:
