Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb co-hosted a basketball camp and made an impact on at least one person. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets‘ fantasy basketball preview, Malik Monk thinking he was going to be drafted by the New York Knicks and Marcus Paige getting married.

Hornets’ fantasy preview (FanRagSports.com)

"Which Hornets players should fantasy owners target with early-, mid- and late-round picks, and who should be left on the waiver wire? Let’s take a look."

If you want to select a Charlotte player early in your fantasy draft, look no further than Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum. The point guard will give you plenty of scoring with efficient shooting while Nic stuffs the stat sheet across the board. Outside of those two, Dwight Howard is a good option as he will likely average a double-double this season.

Malik Monk is an interesting option as he could be a late round steal if he gets plenty of playing time. Be leery of Cody Zeller as he will have a decreased role from last season with Howard now on the roster. The article lists Marvin Williams as a potential sleeper and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as a potential bust.

Malik Monk convinced he was going to the Knicks (ClutchPoints.com)

"Malik Monk was convinced Knicks would draft him: “Me, my agent, everybody in my agency, my family – we all thought we were going to NY.”"

Not only did Monk believe he was getting drafted by New York but so did everyone else. The Knicks surprised everyone (or most) when they took Frank Ntilikina with the eighth pick over Malik and Dennis Smith Jr. Passing on the Kentucky product led to him falling outside the top-10 to the Hornets at No. 11.

There must have been a lot of mutual interest between Monk and the Knicks if he was so convinced they would take him. In the end, it worked out for Charlotte as a potential top-10 talent dropped to them. Malik is arguably in a better situation with the Hornets as he will get the chance to play with a competing playoff team rather than a rebuilding one in NY.

Marcus Paige gets married (Scout.com)

"Former UNC point guard Marcus Paige is married. The Tar Heel All-American got hitched on Saturday night to former Carolina dance team member Taylor Hartzog."

It’s been quite the year for Paige. his alma mater won the NCAA National Title, he signed with Charlotte and now he got married. How much better is it that Brice Johnson was his best man? Current and former teammates were also there including Theo Pinson, Joel Berry, Nate Britt and Kenny Williams. Congrats, Marcus!
