In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at a Charlotte Hornets‘ giveaway, Stephen Curry wanting to follow in Dell Curry’s footsteps and Malik Monk shooting effortlessly from deep.

Hornets are giving away two pairs of Air Jordans (SoleCollector.com)

"In an effort to promote the team’s Pick 12 season ticket plan for the 2017-2018 season, the Hornets announced via the team’s official Twitter account that they are giving one “lucky” fan the chance to win some Air Jordans."

This is a pretty cool giveaway from the organization. With MJ as the owner, it’s a surprise that they don’t give away more shoes. One pair of Air Jordans with every season ticket purchase would be a cool incentive. The shoes being given away in this package is the GS-exclusive pink and gray Air Jordan 12s and a pair of Air Jordan Fusion 12.

Although they aren’t purple and teal, retros or signed, these Air Jordans are still pretty awesome. The Pick 12 plan allows fans to select 12 different games on the Hornets’ schedule to go to this year. You can enter to win the Air Jordans here.

Steph wants to follow in Dell Curry’s footsteps (BleacherReport.com)

"“When I came in the league, that’s the only thing I did say—I want to play 16 years just because my Dad did,” Curry said."

Of Dell Curry’s 16 years in the NBA, a majority (10) of them were spent in Charlotte. While Steph may never make the move to the Queen City like his dad did, he does want to equal his number of seasons in the league. Stephen is already halfway there but still has eight more to go if he wants to match his father’s mark.

Steph has already passed up Dell in almost every major category and honor. The last step is equaling or passing his dad’s number of seasons played. It will be interesting to see if Stephen can reach 16 seasons but looking at his career trajectory, that shouldn’t be too difficult.

Even if Monk’s conditioning isn’t quite where it needs to be just yet, his shooting stroke hasn’t missed a beat because of the ankle injury. Malik’s three-point shooting is something Charlotte’s missed the past few years so hopefully, he can replicate this once the regular season begins. After missing the summer league and still a month away from the season, these little teaser videos are all fans have as they continue to get excited about the Hornets’ first round pick.
