In their first meeting with the Atlanta Hawks this season, the Charlotte Hornets will be without a few important players.

The Charlotte Hornets will look to rebound from their first loss of the season against the Detroit Pistons, as they take on the Atlanta Hawks. This will be the home opener for the Queen City team. In the previous game, Dwight Howard owned the rim when hauling in a total of fifteen rebounds.

With injuries plaguing the Hornets, they will have to get a win without Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Michael Carter-Williams, and also Cody Zeller who is dealing with a bruised knee. Being shorthanded, other role players will need to step up off of the bench for Charlotte.

Prediction Thoughts

Based on these predictions, it can be concluded that the Hornets did a lot of good things out of this close score game. In this game, Dwayne Bacon ends up being the leading scorer with 22 points with Kemba following with 18 points. In the previous game for the Hornets, the rookie was able to put up eight points in his first career start and game.

Based on his style of play, Bacon has the shooter’s mentality that the Hornets have been looking for. Shooting sounds all good, but the good thing is, is that Bacon is a solid defensive player. While the Hornets are a defensive team, it is safe to say that Hornets seemed to get a decent steal out of the second round of the draft. With all praises going to Kemba and Bacon, Dwight Howard also looks to do great in this game while racking up a double-double.

On another note, all eyes will be on first-round pick Malik Monk tonight, while he tries to rebound from a poor first game of the season where he only managed to knock down one three-pointer. With a lot of key players out for injuries tonight, the bench will need to play some good basketball while the starters are not on the court.
